At The Drive In - This Night Has Opened My Eyes (Cover of The Smiths)

This song has been stuck in my head all day, and I’m not happy and I’m not sad.

I became obsessed with At The Drive In after seeing them at the Big Day Out years ago.

I read that they loved Melbourne so much that they were contemplating moving there. Next thing I heard they’d broken up.

New Race were a proto-punk supergroup consisting of Deniz Tek, Warwick Gilbert and Rob Younger of Radio Birdman along with The Stooges’ Ron Asheton and The MC5’s Dennis Thompson. This is “Columbia” from “The First and the Last”, their one official album.

One of the great forgotten punk bands.
